About the Director's Office

The office of the Marion County Health Director provides leadership and direction to the various programs and administrative units that comprise the Health Department. Its functions include health policy and planning, fiscal, grants and materials management, health education, promotion and training, research, public relations and maternal and child health activities. Under the leadership of Marion County Health Director Dr. Virginia A. Caine, the office formulates health policy and planning based on health issues and trends, promotes healthy neighborhoods through education and training, keeps abreast of health research, and provides guidance and leadership to the staff of the Department and to the broader health community throughout Marion County.
