The structure of Healthy Indy Partnership is built upon the commitment to maintain a shared vision and system for improving health and quality of life, regularly prioritize major health improvement goals, support and sustain coalitions, help mobilize funding, and to provide on-going leadership. The governance structure exists to ensure this commitment.
Recognizing that Health Indy Partnership requires the total involvement of Marion County, the Board of Directors is comprised of it's community leaders. Major stakeholders in the "health" and "well-being" of Marion County as consumers, employers, public/private institutions, primary caregivers and government are represented. The Board of Directors meet on a regular basis ensuring the development of an enhanced community care infrastructure that supports effective community planning, resource coordination, targeted interventions, and consensus-based evaluations.
Following the vision set forth by the Board of Directors, the Executive Director leads and directs the Healthy Indy Partnership, facilitates a shared vision through creating and mobilizing health focused partnerships and collaborative opportunities amongst stakeholders, and works towards a general redefining of healthcare from a disease process orientation to a focus on the priority factors that contribute to good health.
Much of the substantive work done by the Partnership is done by the Action Teams. These are comprised of volunteers from the Partnership's participating Organizations and Individuals. All Action Teams relate to one of the focus areas and strategic direction set forth by the Board of Directors.
The Action Teams are comprised of a chair or co-chaired and a self-identified critical mass of other community members.
