Our Vision is
A healthy community is one that provides for a broad definition of health that embraces multiple factors: environmental, social, political, economic, behavioral, biological, as well as medical. Furthermore, a healthy community is one that is dedicated to creating an ownership for health and well-being that extends to all sectors and segments of our society, and an understanding that responsible action from these sectors is required to make good health a reality.
Healthy Indy Partnership embraces the vision of Indianapolis To Be The Healthiest Community in America.
Our Mission is
The purpose of the Healthy Indy Partnership (HIP) is to serve as the community's focal point for creating and maintaining a healthy Marion County. The HIP fills a leadership void long recognized by public health officials, funders and community leaders--the need for a mechanism to lead and engage broad participation in local health planning and improvement.
HIP will accomplish it's mission by involving all the major stakeholders (businesses, schools, consumers, government, hospitals, health care providers, social service agencies, congregations) in an ongoing, sustainable collaborative process which will support effective community health planning, resource identification and coordination, targeted interventions and outcome evaluations.
