The Indianapolis Immunization
Coalition

The Indianapolis Immunization Coalition is a group of businesses
and organizations working together to promote education and community
action on the necessity of timely childhood immunizations.
The primary goal of the Indianapolis Immunization Coalition
is to ensure that every child in Indianapolis is fully immunized
by the age of 2 and remains up-to-date on his/her vaccinations.
As a consortium, we have dedicated much time to developing new and innovative strategies aimed at improving the immunization status of the children in Indianapolis, and The Race for Health promises a sustained approach to this end. The Race for Health provides new mothers with information on the baby shots their infants will need as a portion of the birthing hospital's discharge instructions. To reinforce this message, Hope for Kids volunteers will make follow-up telephone calls and/or send postcards to remind new mothers about the importance of immunizations and to give them extra encouragement to have their baby immunized on time. Thus, immunizations remain a high priority for the new mother until her baby completes the infant immunization series.
