Health Department Announces March Smoking Cessation Schedule of Classes

The Marion County Health Department will offer free smoking cessation classes throughout the month of March. The schedule includes:

March 6, 13, 20 and 27

5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Indianapolis Marion County Public Library

2822 E. Washington St.

Participants must attend all four sessions in order to successfully complete the course. Health department employees will offer a variety of information in a caring, supportive atmosphere to ensure those wanting to quit have the necessary tools to do so.

Classes are held on a monthly basis throughout the community.

Registration is required for the monthly cessation classes. Those interested can call 221-2084.

The Marion County Health Department also offers a free smoking cessation support group. This group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. All meetings take place at the Marion County Health Department, 3838 North Rural St. No registration is required.
