The Marion County Health Department has received an additional 1,000 doses of injectable flu vaccine and will begin offering flu shots to the public Monday.

Vaccine from the Indiana State Department of Health has been divided among the three Marion County Health Department district health offices.

Health department officials say while the peak of the local flu season appears to have passed, it is not too late to have a flu vaccine that will offer protection through the traditional Indiana flu season which can continue into early March.

To date, the Marion County Health Department has provided more than 10,800 vaccines.

A $5 administrative fee for each vaccine will be charged and flu shots will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Flu vaccine will be available for healthy individuals age 4 and above during the following schedule:
