The Marion County Health Department and the Asthma Alliance of Indianapolis are sponsoring a World Asthma Day poster contest for children ages 5 to 14 in grades K-8. Entry deadline for the second annual contest is April 1.

Entries should depict perceptions of asthma, asthma prevention and asthma education. Students may use a variety of media to create their poster. Computer drawn or clip art may not be used.

The purpose of the contest is to provide a creative outlet for children with asthma to express their observations about the chronic condition. Some of the winning entries will be featured in health department educational materials.

Entries can be mailed or dropped off to the Marion County Health Department, 3838 North Rural Street, Indianapolis, IN, 46205.

Prizes will be awarded during a ceremony set for Saturday, May 8 at the Glendale Shopping Center.

Individuals wanting additional information about the contest can contact the health department at 221-2473.
